Are you a registered school/daycare?
Bush Blossom Explorers is not a school or daycare; we are a registered recreational business specialising in nature play programs. Our programs are designed to complement other daycare or schooling arrangements by providing enriching, nature-based classes. We do not receive any childcare subsidies from the government. Think of us as a unique service offering nature classes, similar to how a dance class or art workshop functions. We aim to enhance children's learning experiences through outdoor exploration and hands-on activities in nature.

Do you have Insurance?
Of course! The safety and well-being of your children are our top priority. We are fully insured to cover all participants in our programs, as well as our dedicated staff members. This comprehensive insurance ensures that everyone is protected during our activities, giving you peace of mind while your child enjoys their time exploring and learning in nature.

Do you have policies and procedures in place?
Yes. We have policies and procedures in place for all aspects of our programs and for how we manage the site. These guide our daily practice and ensure a safe, supportive, and well-organised environment for children and families. Families are welcome to request a copy of our policies and procedures at any time.

What happens if it's raining?
If it’s raining, we embrace the opportunity to enjoy the elements! We put on our wet weather gear and continue with our activities. Our staff ensures that everyone stays dry and warm, even in wet conditions. We’ll construct shelters to provide additional cover, and if the rain becomes too heavy, we have an indoor space available as a last resort. Rain or shine, we’re committed to providing a fun and safe experience for all participants. Unless a class is cancelled by a staff member, there will be no refunds given for missed rainy days.

What should I pack for my child attending?
This depends on the specific session they are attending. Once you are enrolled, we will provide detailed information on what to pack. Generally, your child should bring weather-appropriate clothing, a water bottle, a snack or lunch, and any specific items mentioned in the session details. We aim to ensure that every child is prepared and comfortable for their nature play experience

What are your child-to-teacher ratios?

For our drop-off programs, we maintain low child-to-staff ratios to ensure a safe, supportive, and enriching experience. Our standard ratio is 5:1—one staff member for every five children—allowing us to provide plenty of guidance, supervision, and personalised attention.

For our playgroup sessions, we welcome up to 20 families with 2–3 staff members present to help guide the session and support families. However, parents and caregivers are responsible for supervising their own children during playgroup.
